WELCOME
Do you still like to enjoy delicious food whether touring the outback, camping by the sea or even in your own backyard, then why not come and join The Camp Cooking Club? If it's a leg of lamb in a camp oven, pork on a spit, steak on a hot plate, jaffle irons on an open fire or even a home made gadget that cooks a mean pizza, beginners through to you master camp cooks, we cater for all types of outdoor cooking.
Based in the Illawarra (NSW), we welcome members from all over to come join us, such as individuals, families, 4x4 clubs, motor home clubs etc. With a social atmosphere and great bush setting, the Illawarra Light Rail Museum Albion Park is where we call home. Having an area set aside for us, we hold social cook up days there throughout the year.
The club also runs a camp kitchen, which cooks and sells meals to the public at festivals, celebrations and special events. Being a great financial asset to the club, the camp kitchen is always in need of volunteers from it's members to help out on event days, as all money raised goes back into the club for running costs and the purchase of equipment etc.
Organised by the Albion Park Chamber Of Commerce, the Albion Park Camp Cooking Challenge held in May, is one of the clubs main events of the year. Supporting this event, club members put their outdoor cooking skills to the test, competing against other outdoor cooking enthusiasts. There is also the opportunity for club members to travel away as a group to other outdoor cooking challenges, such as Trundles Bush Tucker Day or the Victorian Camp Oven Festival in Heyfield, to mention a few. Whether competing or going for the support and social aspect, either way it makes for a great weekend.
So if you're a novice or a master outdoor chef, bring your family and friends to one of our club cooking days and see what we're all about.
